We’re a week into New York Fashion Week (NYFW), and one thing is apparent — it has a new look this year. In an effort to keep up with consumer demand for the latest fashions as well as to negate fast-fashion knockoffs, many designers have opted for a new approach to fashion week. Some went for lavish consumer experiences, some chose influencers over celebrities  and others opted for more private one-on-one appointments. However, the biggest trend to emerge from NYFW this year? See-now-buy-now runway shows. While many fashion veterans have yet to unveil their collections (Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, etc.), below is a list of five designers who have won NYFW16 so far:

Rebecca Minkoff: Minkoff has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to technology. She’s one of the many designers testing out the see-now-buy-now model. Minkoff is also one of the first designers to use influencers in her fashion show, one which shut down a city block in SoHo. Literally, taking her show to the consumers.

Opening Ceremony: While some designers are still using high-profile models and sticking to the catwalk for their shows, Opening Ceremony thought outside the box. From last year’s written play by Spike Lee and Jonah Hill, this year Opening Ceremony highlighted women comedians and actresses.

Misha Nonoo: Not many have heard of this playful brand before, but Misha Nonoo has been modeled and praised by the likes of Emma Watson and ultimate fashionista Sarah Jessica Parker. Instead of going to the catwalk, Misha Nonoo went digital. Debuting last year for an “Insta-only” show (engaging over 15.1 million Instagram users), Misha Nonoo embraced social media once again and partnered with millennial media mogul Refinery29 for her first “live lookbook” on Snapchat. The collection was then made shoppable immediately.

Diane von Furstenberg: Along with Kate Spade, Diane von Furstenberg opted out of the fall showings at this year’s NYFW. She will be focusing on her spring line, debuting it in February as see-now-buy-now items. Both brands are hosting private, one-on-one appointments with press and other fashion elites during this year’s NYFW. Embargoes have been placed on photos to ensure leaks don’t occur on social media.

Tommy Hilfiger: Partnering with one of today’s hottest celebrities, Gigi Hadid, was Tommy Hilfiger’s first move to guarantee social media attention during NYFW. Shutting down Coney Island for an immersive consumer experience complete with a shoppable catwalk? A whole new level. Last Friday, Tommy Hilfiger created its own carnival. While many argue Karl Lagerfeld has been doing this for a while now with his lavish Dior shows, this is the first time such a show was open to the public — for the whole weekend.

Consumers are asking for experiences, and brands are delivering.

Honorable mention: Tom Ford (Because he’s Tom Ford and can do no wrong. Check out his collection here).
