Welcome to my first blog ever. I am the co-founder of the Women in Retail Leadership Circle. Lovely to meet you! You really should get to know us … even if I’m biased! This blog will cover all sorts of topics about amazing women trailblazers, retail insights and, ummm, shopping and shoes thrown in for girly measure.

Back to this particular post — who I need to become besties with, and pronto. It’s confession time: celebrities float my boat, and I find it fascinating that so many of them are jumping into the retail waters. I mean they’re popping up everywhere. Of course there are the retail/celeb partnerships that everyone knows — Jessica Alba and Honest Company, Reese and Draper James, etc. I get it, I do. And I’m all for entrepreneurial spirit, especially from fab ladies with good taste.

That’s why these newbies in the retail space are worth getting to know (yes, I actually talk like this, you’ll get used to it). I’ll bet you didn’t know some of the cool retail brands that celebs are either launching or partnering with. Take a peek!

Julianne Hough and MPG Sport: Jules (I call her that because we’ll be besties soon) is collaborating with MPG Sport on an exclusive line of curated athleisure wear this Spring. (Side note: the word “athleisure” almost makes me want to go running … or Dancing With the Stars. See what I did there?)

Melissa McCarthy and Seven7: Melissa’s new line of women’s clothing, Seven7, ranges from sizes 4-28. The fact that she doesn’t use the term “plus size” is BFF worthy in and of itself. The line is available on HSN as well at Nordstrom, Macy’s, Lane Bryant and Evans.

Gigi Hadid and Tommy Hilfiger: How cool is that combo? The capsule collection, called Gigi (obvi!), will launch in Fall 2016, and will include a range of womenswear and footwear, as well as watches, sunglasses and a new fragrance.

Coco Rocha and Paragon Project:  I’ve been looking for a friend named Coco anyway, everyone needs one. Paragon Project, a Los Angeles-based fashion collective, announced the launch of Co+Co earlier this month. Rocha will serve as a designer and ambassador for the brand.

This begs the question: Should you be thinking of a celebrity collaboration? And who would be a good partner for your brand? Food for thought.

PS I’m available.

PPS If anyone knows these ladies, please tell them my friendship circle is open for additional BFFs … only if they like wine, tho.  That’s kind of a sticking point with me.
