Can I Take a Minute to Brag?

By: Melissa Campanelli

Those of you who know me know that I’m not one to boast, but I thought I’d take a second to brag a bit about our upcoming Women in Retail Leadership Summit, taking place in Miami on April 20-22, and the fabulous speakers we’ve lined up. (This recent Inc. article says that women need to brag more anyway!)

For starters, our opening day keynote is Shelley Broader, president and CEO of Chico’s. Prior to Chico’s, Shelley was the president and CEO of Wal-Mart’s EMEA region, where she was responsible for retail operations and business development across Europe, the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa and Canada. She also served in leadership roles at Sam’s Club, Michaels, Delhaize Group, Massachusetts Financial Services Company and First Albany Corp. Shelley will discuss her path to the top, as well as why she switched careers and the lessons she’s learned along the way.

Our second day keynote is Federica Marchionni, CEO of Lands’ End. Before joining Lands’ End, Federica was the chief of brand at Ferrari. Prior to that, she was president of Dolce & Gabbana USA, Inc. Federica started her career in technology, working for industry leaders such as Samsung, Phillips and Ericsson. She will also share her professional journey with the audience.

And those are just the keynotes! Other experts scheduled to speak at the Summit include Diane M. Ellis, CEO, The Limited; Stormy Simon, president, Overstock.com; Lisa Gersh, CEO, goop; Lisa Gavales, CEO, Things Remembered; Kim Heidt, vice president, global store operations and customer experience, omnichannel, Deckers Brands; Kim Lewis, vice president, omnichannel marketing, Golfsmith; Kecia Heischler, vice president of brands, Home at HauteLook | Nordstrom Rack; and Christine Buscarino, vice president of e-commerce marketing, Office Depot.

There, I had to share! We’re so proud of our lineup, and hope it will entice you to register for the event. It really is a special experience for attendees, and we want you to be a part of it!

Is there anything you’d like to brag about? If so, please send us a note and we can publish it here. It’s always great to hear about our readers’ successes!
