Apple recently updated its emoji alphabet to include a wider variety of skin tones in an effort to promote diversity.

While this initiative is certainly commendable, the collection of female emojis remains limited to characters like brides and princesses. What’s more, their activities are limited to salsa dancing, getting haircuts and wearing bunny costumes.

The folks over at Makers, which features the largest video collection of women’s stories, were fed up and not going to take it any more! They came up with some examples of female emojis (aka “femojis”) they’d like to see on their iPhones. They include femojis of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Serena and Venus Williams, Hillary Clinton, and Gloria Steinem, to name just a few.

After all, “if the folks over at Apple [are] going to make an effort to be progressive and value diversity, their next iOS update needs to feature a larger representation of females in their emoji alphabet,” the a blog post from Makers said.

While compared to larger global women’s issues, emojis may seem insignificant, but these characters have become the primary language young girls use to express themselves in text messages or on social media. Many believe you have to “see it to be it.”
