Hello Inner Circle readers!

This week I wanted to tell you about an exclusive, all-expenses-paid event that our sister brand, Total Retail, is hosting in Miami this fall. The invitation-only summit (for men and women!)  is called Total Retail Tech: Connecting Retail Technology and Marketing, and it will offer attendees two days to learn from industry experts, service and technology providers, and other retailers in a small group setting. And, of course, there will be great networking opportunities, entertainment and fun surprises as well! Here are some additional details:

Dates: September 12-14, 2017
Location: The luxurious Conrad Miami Hotel in Miami, Florida

Your travel, hotel accommodations, meals and entertainment are all complimentary. The first-class event features compelling keynote presentations; boardroom case studies; retailer meet-ups; and more! You can check out the website and agenda here.

Total Retail Tech is limited to 50 select retail executives who are responsible for vetting, purchasing, implementing and leveraging retail technology solutions. Here’s a sampling of some of the retail companies that are sending digital, e-commerce, marketing, and technology executives to the event:

  • 1-800-Flowers.com
  • Boscov’s
  • Destination Maternity
  • Eileen Fisher
  • Estee Lauder
  • J.Crew
  • Lands’ End
  • QVC
  • Pier 1 Imports
  • Tailored Brands
  • The Camuto Group
  • TJX Companies

If you’re interested in attending, please fill out the application form here. Space is limited, so please sign up as soon as possible. I do hope you’ll be able to join us in September!

Also, I wanted to give a shout out to Women in Retail Leadership Circle board member Amy Madonia, who wrote an excellent, thought-provoking piece for this week’s Inner Circle. Amy analyzes the pros and cons of the gig economy – a labor market where short-term contracts and freelance work dominate as opposed to permanent and full-time jobs – for both retail employers and retail employees.

Enjoy!
