Hello Inner Circle readers!

The Women in Retail Leadership Circle team is smack dab in the middle of our “busy season” (but aren’t they all!?) as we set out for our upcoming On the Road events  over the next few weeks. While our New York City event, taking place tomorrow (Oct. 24), is sold out (we’re talking about fire code capacity!), our San Francisco event on  Nov. 7 still has a few seats open. As I’ve mentioned before, these one-day events feature inspiring and informative content, private executive coaching opportunities, fun activations, networking with industry leaders, and more. The events ends with cocktails and conversation for you to get even more networking time with your fellow attendees.

The speaker roster for our San Francisco event is great as well, with our speakers talking about a wide variety of topics. They include the following:

  • Robyn Sue Fisher, founder and CEO of San Francisco-based Smitten Ice Cream, will be discussing how she is re-egineering ice cream! Fisher, who was dissatisfied with the corporate world and her frozen dessert options, decided she wanted to make being an adult a fun thing, so she chased after something she loved — ice cream — and made it better by using technology to take it back in time. It’s a story that includes a Stanford MBA, liquid nitrogen, a 40-pound machine bungee-corded to a Radio Flyer wagon hauled around the streets of San Francisco, and made-to-order ice cream. Fisher is scrappy, smart and stubborn. She proves that “if there’s a will, there’s a way.” You’ll love hearing her story!
  • Nizzi Renaud, chief marketing officer of Zazzle, will share her career journey (she’s been been at some of the most successful startups in the world), as well as her work currently leading marketing for Zazzle, an online marketplace that allows designers and customers to create their own products with independent manufacturers. Renaud will talk about how Zazzle is successfully courting millennials, the power of personalization, and how she’s taken the marketplace ecosystem to new heights. Listen to her story and hear what she’s been able to accomplish — we guarantee you’ll be impressed!
  • Sheree Waterson, the former chief product officer at Athleta, will talk about her illustrious career, including her most recent work with the Gap Inc.-owned athletic apparel brand, as well as stints as the CEO of Nasty Gal, and chief product officer at lululemon athletica. She promises to talk candidly about her successes and challenges, share leadership tips, and give attendees an inside look at what it’s like to be a retail veteran.

Register today; I hope to see you in San Francisco!
